Lucknow, April 2: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and founder of the Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav's net worth has downloaded by nearly Rs 3 crore in the last 5 years, his poll affidavit shows. The 79-year-old has also declared a debt of Rs 2.13 crore, which he owes to his son and the incumbent SP president Akhilesh Yadav.

The details were attached with the nomination papers filed by Mulayam from Mainpuri, the constituency considered to be his bastion. As per the affidavit, the former SP chief has declared total assets of Rs 16.52 crore, including movable and immovable properties. Amit Shah Has Net Worth of Rs 53.9 Lakh, Wife's Income Grew 16-Fold in 5 Years

This is Rs 3.20 crore less than the assets declared by him in an affidavit ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

According to the affidavit, a case was registered against Mulayam Singh Yadav at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on September 24, 2015, for allegedly threatening IPS officer Amitabh Thakur over phone. The case is pending in the court of the chief judicial magistrate.

Mulayam Singh Yadav and his wife Sadhna Yadav have an annual income of Rs 32.02 lakh and Rs 25.61 lakh respectively. Sadhna Yadav has shown assets worth Rs 5.06 crore.

According to the election affidavit, Mulayam Singh Yadav does not have a car. However, his wife owns a luxury car.

At the nomination filing, Mulayam was accompanied by the district presidents of both SP and BSP -- in a show of alliance solidarity. Mulayam's cousin Ram Gopal Yadav and son Akhilesh were also present at the SEC office.
