Mumbai, April 18: Considered to be close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a supporter of Bharatiya Janata Party, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has endorsed Congress leader Milind Deora in a campaign video released by the South Mumbai Lok Sabha candidate on Wednesday. This is the latest twist in the Lok Sabha polls, which hardly anyone has expected.

The campaign video posted by Congress's South Mumbai candidate Milind Deora, shows RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani endorsing the Deora and supporting him in the polls. Ambani could be even heard saying, "Milind is the man for South Mumbai". Milind Deora Appointed New Mumbai Congress Chief; Replaces Sanjay Nirupam Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.

Adding more, Ambani said, "Having represented South Mumbai for 10 years, I believe that Milind has in-depth knowledge of social, economic, and cultural ecosystem of the South Mumbai constituency. Both micro-enterprises and large businesses can thrive in Mumbai so that attractive, new employment opportunities can be created for our talented young women and men."

Ambani is not the only who had extended his support to Deora. Apart from Deora, Kotak Mahindra Group’s chairman Uday Kotak and Krish Ramnani of Togglehead Private Ltd were among the prominent personalities echoed their voices to vote for the Congress candidate in the 2.17-minute video shared by Deora on his Twitter handle.

Mumbai south constituency will go to polls in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections on April 29. Maharashtra is voting in four phases on April 11, April 18, April 23 and April 29. The voting for 2019 Lok Sabha elections began on April 11 and will conclude on May 19. Results will be declared on May 23.
