'Monday Mayawati, Tuesday Akhilesh Yadav': Amit Shah Lists Six PM Candidates if Mahagathbandhan Wins Lok Sabha Elections 2019
Calling the mahagathbandhan or the proposed coalition of anti-BJP parties an "opportunist group", Shah said the conglomerate has at least six prime ministerial aspirants.
Kanpur, January 30: BJP president Amit Shah launched a stinging attack on the Opposition while addressing the party's trishakti sammelan rally in Kanpur on Wednesday. Calling the mahagathbandhan or the proposed coalition of anti-BJP parties an "opportunist group", Shah said the conglomerate has at least six prime ministerial aspirants.
The BJP chief listed six PM candidates in the Opposition's fray, said that if they succeed in dislodging the NDA regime in Lok Sabha elections 2019, then "Mayawati would be the Prime Minister on Monday and Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday". BJP Will Defeat SP-BSP Alliance in Uttar Pradesh, Says Amit Shah.
"On Wednesday, it will be Mamata-didi (West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee). On Thursday, Sharad Pawar. On Friday, Deve Gowda will be the PM. On Saturday, MK Stalin will take the spot. And on Sunday, the country will go to sleep," Shah told the gathering of BJP cadres.
He further added that the best option before the electorate is to repose their faith in the decisive, honest and dedicated leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We have a PM who has not taken a single day leave. His only aim is to secure the nation and develop it. Under his leadership, no one can pose a threat to India," Shah added.
Shah's tirade at the mahagathbandhan comes days after leaders representing 23 different political parties attended the mega public rally called by Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata. The leaders called for a rainbow alliance and underscored their common agenda of ousting Modi.
"This is not an election to choose a new Prime Minister. The 2019 polls is all about defeating Modi. It is all about dethroning the duo of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi," said AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, who attended the rally.
