Mokama Vidhan Sabha Seat Result in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020: RJD's Anant Singh Wins, Elected as MLA

Patna, November 12: Anant Singh of the RJD has won from the Mokama Vidhan Sabha Seat after defeating the JD(U) candidate Rajeev Lochan Narayan Singh. The Mokama constituency is situated in the Patna district of Bihar. The current MLA of the Mokama Assembly constituency is Anant Kumar Singh who is an independent candidate. Polling in Mokama constituency was held on October 28 in the first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. Polling for Bihar assembly elections was held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7, followed by counting of votes on November 10. The Bihar election is one of the biggest elections globally during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 First Phase Complete Schedule

The main candidates for Mokama Assembly Election 2020 included Anant Kumar Singh of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Rajeev Narayan Singh of the Janata Dal (United), Suresh Nishad of the Lok Jan Shakti Party among  other candidates. In the 2015 Bihar elections, Anant Kumar Singh of the IND had won the Mokama seat by defeating JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar.

The voting for the first phase was held on October 28 which covered 71 assembly constituencies, while the second-phase voting was held on November 3 which covered 94 seats. The third phase of voting on November 7 covered 78 assembly seats. In Bihar, the ruling NDA faced a challenge from the RJD-Congress alliance (JDU+BJP) and the Mahagathbandhan.
