Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 24 Cabinet Ministers took oath in the swearing-in ceremony. Apart from this, 24 Ministers of State and 9 Minister of State with Independent charge took oath in the swearing-in ceremony of Modi 2.0 government. With this, Modi 2.0 is 58 members strong team newly formed cabinet.

New Delhi, May 30: Narendra Modi will officially return as Prime Minister of India for a second term as he will take oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today. The swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and his other ministers will begin at 7 pm on Thursday, May 30. The oath-taking ceremony comes days after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gained a thumping majority with 303 seats for the party itself and a total of 352 seats for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Speculation is rife that BJP President Amit Shah may replace Rajnath Singh as Home Minister. Meanwhile, outgoing Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday wrote to Modi requesting him not to induct him in the new cabinet citing health concerns. Following this, the PM-designate met Jaitley last night. Reports also say that Smriti Irani is likely to be rewarded for her outstanding victory over Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and may get an important Cabinet berth. The Shiv Sena has said South Mumbai MP Arvind Sawant will also be getting a rank in the new Modi Sarkar.

Guests And Menu

A list of 6,500 high-profile guests has been prepared for Modi's swearing-in ceremony event. Modi has invited leaders of the BIMSTEC group of nations for his oath-taking ceremony this year. Member nations of the group include Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Myanmar.

Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are also expected to be among those attending the ceremony. Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal, Telangana's K Chandrasekhara Rao and Andhra Pradesh's Jaganmohan Reddy would also be attending the event. An invitation has also been extended to former BJP ally and ex-Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was also invited for the event, refused to come on Wednesday, refuting BJP's charge that 54 deaths had taken place in the state due to poll violence. 

Meanwhile, as per reports, the guests will be served light dinner besides high-tea after the ceremony at 7 PM. Along with the high-tea, dignitaries who are vegetarian, will see a wide range of options ranging from samosas to Rajbhog and lemon tarts.

All eyes are on Rashtrapati Bhavan as Modi returns as the Prime Minister of India and to find out who takes what ministry.
