MLC Bypolls 2019 in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana: Voting for 4 Seats to Take Place on August 26
By-polls to three seats in Andhra Pradesh’s Legislative Council (MLC) will be held on August 26. Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will vote in the MLC by-polls under MLAs quota. The results will be declared on the same day.
Hyderabad, August 7: By-polls to three seats in Andhra Pradesh’s Legislative Council (MLC) will be held on August 26. Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will vote in the MLC by-polls under MLAs quota. The three seats were vacated after Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) KB Murty, and YSRCP’s A Kalikrishna Srinivas and K Veerabhadra Swamy resigned for their posts on June 6. The MLCs tendered their resignation after getting elected as MLAs in the recent assembly polls.
The results will be declared on the same day. Meanwhile, voting for one MLC seat in Telangana will also take place on August 26. The notification for the voting for these four MLC seats was released by the Election Commission on Wednesday. The last date of filing nominations will be August 14, and the last date for withdrawal will be August 19. In the recently concluded assembly elections, Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party won 151 seats out of 175, while the TDP managed to bag only 23 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress even failed to open the account.
