Miraj (SC) Vidhan Sabha Constituency Election Result 2019 in Maharashtra: Dr Suresh (Bhau) Dagadu Khade of BJP Wins MLA Seat in Assembly Polls
The Miraj (SC) Assembly seat in Maharashtra went to polls on October 21. The counting of votes for the Miraj (SC) Assembly seat in Maharashtra took place on Thursday, October 24 and the results were announced on the same day itself.
Dr Suresh (Bhau) Dagadu Khade of BJP has won the Miraj (SC) Assembly constituency in Maharashtra by defeating the Swabhimani Paksha candidate Balaso Dattatray Honmore. Miraj (SC) constituency is one of the 288 Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) constituencies of Maharashtra. Geographically, Miraj happens to be one of the eight assembly constituencies that fall under the ambit of Sangli district. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had announced a single-phase voting for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019, and hence the populace in Miraj is slated to go voting on October 21.
Khade Suresh (Bhau) Dagadu, who belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the current MLA from Miraj Vidhan Sabha constituency. In 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, he defeated Congress’ candidate after he secured 93,795 votes in his favour. In 2009 Maharashtra Assembly Polls, it was him only who won the elections from Miraj constituency. Dagadu will also be fighting the 2019 polls on a BJP ticket, against Gangaram Shivmurti Satpute of the BSP among other candidates. The Election Commission, in its announcement on September 21, had announced the dates for Maharashtra Assembly Polls 2019. The last date to file nominations and withdraw them was October 4 and 7 respectively. The EC announced a single-phase voting in Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Elections 2019, which will take place on October 21. The votes will be counted on October 24, and the results for Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Elections 2019 will be out on the same day. The EC had said that all the election-related procedures will be completed by October 28, i.e. Diwali.
The EC had directed the poll authorities to make sure that specially-abled people and senior citizens are given all the services and facilities for smooth conduct of polls. Also, every assembly constituency will have at least one women-exclusive polling booth, where the entire staff and security personnel will be women only.
The current Maharashtra government term is scheduled to end on November 9. With poll campaigns on, and the date of voting nearing, it will be interesting to see which of the two alliances forms the next government in Maharashtra.
