New Delhi, October 3: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday lashed out at the Congress for failure of talks on alliance in poll-bound states. Calling Digvijay Singh an BJP-RSS agent, Mayawati said some Congress leaders are sabotaging talks for Congress-BSP alliance. The BSP chief added the Congress is targetting opposition parties more than the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"I feel that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's intentions for the Congress-BSP alliance are honest. However some Congress leaders are sabotaging this," Mayawati said. Digvijaya Singh who is an agent of BJP and RSS is giving statements that Mayawati has a lot of pressure from Centre so she doesn’t want this alliance. This is baseless," she added. Mayawati said the BSP had faced people's wrath in the past for forming an alliance with the Congress despite corruption charges against it. Despite this, we made genuine efforts for a tie-up, but the Congress always betrays, the BSP chief said. She further made it clear that the BSP will not form alliance with the Congress for assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. "They (Congress) are getting arrogant and are under misconception that they can defeat BJP on their own but the ground reality is that people haven't forgiven Congress party for their mistakes and corruption...They don't seem to be ready to rectify themselves," Mayawati said.
