New Delhi, April 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Manoj Tiwari on Monday filed nomination papers from North-East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Tiwari is the sitting MP from this parliamentary seat. Earlier in the day, the BJP candidate held a roadshow in the constituency. Haryanavi dancer Sapna Chaudhary also campaigned for the BJP candidate during the roadshow.

The North-East Delhi constituency will be witnessing a triangular contest between the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP. Tiwari is contesting against Congress’ Sheila Dikshit and AAP’s Dilip Pandey.

The North East Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the seven parliamentary seats in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Voting on this seat will take place in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Polls on May 12.

The voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place across India in seven phases from April to May 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23, which is the General Election Result Day. Immediately after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force.
