New Delhi, Sept 23: Amid speculations of a rejig in the BJP-led Goa government, party president Amit Shah on Sunday ruled out the possibility of replacing the incumbent Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar.

Shah said the BJP leadership has decided to run the government in Goa under the leadership of Parrikar -- a four-time CM. However, Shah said there would soon be changes made to the state cabinet. Goa CM Wants to 'Resign', Conveys to Amit Shah, PM Modi.

According to reports, the party is mulling over dropping senior leaders - Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar and Urban Development Minister Francis D'Souza - both of whom are hospitalised in Mumbai.

Here is what Amit Shah tweeted:

In the past week, reports citing Goa BJP sources claimed that Parrikar has expressed his inability to continue as Chief Minister to Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A senior BJP leader in the state told news agency PTI that Parrikar was asked to continue as the CM, while he would be relieved of some key portfolios. "Parrikar spoke to Shah and briefed him about the political situation in the state, and also informed him about his health condition. It was decided that Parrikar will continue as the chief minister, but he might give some of his portfolios to his cabinet colleagues," he said on the condition of anonymity.
