Kolkata, December 28: A day after stating that the amended Citizenship Act will not be implemented in West Bengal as long as she is alive, and that there will be no detention centre in the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday night penned down a strong-worded poem against the CAA and National Register of Citizens. She also lambasted Narendra Modi-led government and stated that her state government will oppose the divisive agenda as it is in favour of "United India".

The poem titled -- "Adhikar" in Bengali and "Our Right" in English -- was shared by the West Bengal CM on her Facebook page and is directed towards slamming the recent decisions of Central government. In her poem, Benerjee has not only criticised the polices of Central government, but had also asked who has given "you" the right to "trample" upon "my rights". Stating that the country never taught the people to hate against each other and discrimination, Banerjee had called NRC and the new citizenship law as "instruments of hate". Mamata Banerjee Says 'CAA Will Not Be Implemented in West Bengal as Long as I Am Alive'.

Here's Mamata Banerjee's Facebook post:

Here's what she wrote:

The country has become strange

Not my lord of birth!

India - where I was born

Never taught us discrimination.

Who has given you the right

To trample upon my rights?

Shame on you and your might

My country, my homeland

Has given me the right to stay

Those who spread hate

Your turn to weep, my friend.

You are full of poisonous hatred

Snatching away people's right

I know my country well,

Our harmony - a beholden sight

No to hate, Yes to right

This is our clarion call

We are all citizens

Human rights are for all.

Instruments of hate - NRC, CAA

We will not stand in queues

Poor people to que up again?

They are not be fooled.

No, no, no to hate

We oppose dividing people

United India is all we want

Divisions will turn to be futile.

We are all citizens

We reject divisive CAA,NRC

It is to be known that the Trinamool Congress supremo had repeatedly said raised her voice against the NRC and CAA. She had made her stance clear that her government would not let the NRC or CAA to be imposed in the state. She had also lent her support to students' protesting against the CAA and criticised government's action on them.
