Kolkata, June 6: Days after the Lok Sabha debacle to BJP in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress supremo and state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee signed political strategist Prashant Kishor to work officially with her, ahead of Assembly polls in 2021. The latest development comes amid the tiff between TMC and BJP in state post-Lok Sabha polls' results.
According to the reports, Banerjee met the poll whiz kid Prashant earlier in the day and held a meeting for around two hours. Soon after the meeting, both the duo came to an agreement where Kishor gave his nod to work with TMC and help her in regaining the lost ground in the state. It is to be known that Kishor is the same person who had worked with Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh in recent Assembly elections and as a result, YSRCP formed a government in the state. Also, he had helped Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United in Bihar and led successful campaigns of Narendra Modi in 2014.
However, the development in the political scenario in West Bengal comes a day after Banerjee on Wednesday warned the Bharatiya Janata Party that it will have to soon pay for 'tampering EVMs'. The above comments were made by Banerjee at a huge gathering on Eid here in her six-minute speech.
