West Bengal, December 18: In her latest attack on BJP, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reminded Amit Shah that he is not only a BJP leader but also the Home Minister of the country. She urged him to maintain peace in the country and questioned him how many detention camps would be built to house the illegal migrants.
"You have not done 'sabka saath, sabka Vikas' but 'sabke saath sarvanash'. Withdraw CAA & NRC, or else I will see how you implement it here," Banerjee further issued a direct challenge to Shah.
Mamata has all throughout maintained her stand that West Bengal will not implement NRC and CAA, which she said today were 'two sides of the same lollipop'. On Monday she had threatened that implementation of both these schemes can happen only over her dead body. Mamata Banerjee Says 'CAA And NRC Will Be Imposed in West Bengal Only Over My Dead Body'.
She was further quoted saying, "You say no one will lose citizenship. But now you say no pan, no Aadhar, nothing will work... Then what will work? An amulet from the BJP? The BJP has become a washing machine."

There have been widespread protests in the state against NRC and CAA over the last few weeks. The CM had urged protesters to maintain peace and stay within the ambit of the law. She had said on Tuesday, "There are certain people in the BJP who are creating violence. We have to work peacefully to find out a middle path. The BJP intends to profit if there are clashes between Hindus and Muslims."
