New Delhi, July 31: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be meeting Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. The West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief, reportedly, will also meet Yashwant Sinha and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha at advocate Ram Jethmalani's residence. Mamata has criticised the Assam government and the Centre over the NRC list released on Monday.

"Where will the 40 lakh people whose names have been deleted go? Does Centre have any rehabilitation program for them? Ultimately it is Bengal which will suffer. Its just vote politics by BJP. Request Home Minister to bring an amendment", said Mamata on Monday after the NRC was released.

The Chief Minister also said that the NRC is nothing but a game plan to isolate people. She said that people are being made refugees in their own country. And that the NRC is a plan to throw out the Bengali speaking population and Biharis out of India. She said that "consequences will be felt in our state also." Check the ANI tweet below:

"There were people who have Aaadhar cards and passports but still their names are not in the draft list. Names of people were removed on the basis of surnames also. Is the Government trying to do forceful eviction?" questioned Mamata on the NRC list.

Meanwhile, the BJP on Monday attacked the Trinamool Congress and said that a similar exercise to identify illegal migrants from Bangladesh in West Bengal should be carried out, reported the Indian Express.
