Mumbai, October 14:  Malkapur Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the seven constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha located in the Buldhana district. Ekade Rajesh Panditrao of Congress party won from this constituency. The Malkapur Vidhan Sabha constituency is part of the Raver Lok Sabha constituency in the adjoining Jalgaon district. The constituency had their election on October 21. The counting of votes and the final results were declared on October 24.

Chainsukh Madanlal Sancheti is the sitting MLA from the constituency. He belongs to the BJP party and won the 2014 General Assembly elections with 75,965 votes ahead of Dr Arvind from the Congress party. Chainsukh is a veteran politician of the BJP party in Maharashtra, who has been consecutively elected for five times as Legislator from Malkapur Assembly Constituency since 1995. He is the incumbent Chairman of Vidharbha Development Board Since July 2019.

In the 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party winning 122 seats. A total of 95,473 polling stations that have been set up for over 8.95 crore voters in Maharashtra. The Konkan Divisional Commissioner Shivajirao Daund has directed officials concerned to ensure all facilities for disabled persons and senior citizens during voting and to shun the use of plastic at the polling booths.
