Gandhi also launched the flag for Mahila Congress with the new logo at the Mahila Adhikar Sammelan at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi.
While launching the logo of the Mahila Congress, Rahul Gandhi said that the party's target is to take women’s representation in all spheres to 50 per cent. Gandhi hit out at the Narendra Modi government over increasing incidents of sexual crimes against women. Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining silence the incidents of rape. The Congress President said, “The PM doesn't say anything on the incidents of rape. What happened against women in these four years is something which didn't happen even in the last 70 years.”
Talking about the Women Reservation Bill, Gandhi also slammed the central government for taking too long in passing the Bill. He alleged that even after the Congress extended support to the government, the Bill has been pending for too long.
