Maharashtra Stalemate Continues: Meeting Between Congress & NCP Leaders Postponed Till Tomorrow Due to Indira Gandhi's Birth Anniversary Celebrations

The meeting between NCP chief Sharad Pawar and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Monday ended without reaching any specific conclusion on joining hands with the Shiv Sena to form the government in Maharashtra.

Mumbai, November 19: The stalemate with regards to the Maharashtra government formation continues almost a month since the election results were declared. The current situation is such that Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP are in talks to form an alternative government in the state to end President's rule in the state. A meeting scheduled to take place on Tuesday between Congress and NCP leaders has been postponed till tomorrow.

According to an ANI tweet, Nawab Malik, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) said, "Today's meeting between Congress & NCP leaders has been postponed till tomorrow as Congress leaders are busy in different programmes due to Indira Gandhi Ji's birth anniversary."
