Maharashtra Political Twist: Ajit Pawar Remains Firm on His Stand of Supporting BJP, Calls Sharad Pawar His 'Leader'

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday remainonce again reiterated on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would provide a stable government in Maharashtra. In a tweet, Ajit Pawar also lauded Sharad Pawar and called the NCP chief his leader.

Mumbai, November 24: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday once again reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would provide a stable government in Maharashtra. In a tweet, Ajit Pawar also lauded Sharad Pawar and called the NCP chief his leader. Ajit tweeted, “I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP, and @PawarSpeaks Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people.”

Earlier in the day, the Maharashtra Deputy CM also tweeted to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also assured the PM that he would work hard for the welfare of people of Maharashtra. The rebel NCP leader also thanked Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, JP Nadda among other BJP leaders.

On Sunday, three more legislators of the NCP returned to Sharad Pawar’s camp. NCP MLA Anil Patil, in a tweet, announced that he was with Sharad Pawar, while "missing" legislator Daulat Daroda also indicated of returning to the NCP. Legislator Manikrao Kokate also reached the Renaissance Hotel where other MLAs of the party are staying. Now, Ajit Pawar is left with just one MLA. On Saturday, Ajit was also removed as the legislative head of the NCP.
