Mumbai, November 25: Anil Patil, who along with three other Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs was "rescued" on Monday from a hotel they were confined in Haryana's Gurugram allegedly by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said that they were scared. Other three legislators are Narhari Zirwal, Daulat Daroda and Babasaheb Patil. They were taken to Delhi from a private plane hours after NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar Says 'Party Will Decide' When Asked About Ajit Pawar's Removal From NCP.

"When we reached a hotel (in Delhi) at least 100-200 BJP workers were present there along with a lot of police cars and personnel in civil dress. We were scared," Patil told reporters. "We told Sharad Pawar Saab that we want to return and stay with the party. He assured us that we will be brought back and made the necessary arrangements," he added. Earlier today, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said that four legislators were rescued. Maharashtra Government Formation: Supreme Court to Pass Order on Floor Test at 10.30 AM Tomorrow.

"The daring rescue operation was carried out by our local NCP leaders Dhiraj Sharma and Sonia Duhana They found that our legislators had been trapped in a hotel there, and got into the act. They have been brought back to Mumbai before the trust vote in the legislature," Malik told news agency IANS. It remains unclear how the four MLAs landed in Haryana, who took them or when.

With this, the NCP now claims it has the support of around 52 of the total 54 legislators. It means Ajit Pawar may now have the support of just one MLA. The NCP, along with the Shiv Sena and the Congress, has submitted a letter with at least 160 signatures addressed to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, staking claim to form the government since it had the majority.
