Mumbai, November 23: Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel in a press conference on Saturday called the BJP's move to form the government in Maharashtra as unconstitutional and said that the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena combine will defeat the BJP in confidence vote on the floor of the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha. Patel also added that the Congress will fight the BJP on both the political and legal front. Earlier, Patel had taken to Twitter and wrote, "Illegal and evil manoeuvres take place in the secrecy of midnight Such was the shame that they had to do the swearing in hiding This illegitimate formation will self-destruct," Mr Patel tweeted. Ahmed Patel called the day a black spot in Maharashtra's history. "Today was a black spot in the history of Maharashtra. Everything was done in a hushed manner and early morning. Something is wrong somewhere. Nothing can be more shameful than this," said Patel. Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar took oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, leaving the Congress, NCP and the Shiv Sena surprised as the leaders of the three parties were supposed to hold the final round of meetings to finalise their deal for Maharashtra, where President's rule was imposed since November 12.
