Maharashtra Government Formation: Sanjay Raut Reiterates Shiv Sena CM Will Be For 5 Years, Says 'Won't Side With BJP Even If Offered Lord Indra's Throne'

After days of deadlock in the state, the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and Congress may announce an alliance today to form a government in Maharashtra. All three parties have decided that a Shiv Sena chief minister will have a full five-year term.

Mumbai, November 22: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday reiterated by saying that his party will get the Maharashtra CM's post, who will run for five years. On being asked by the reporters, if NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar had suggested his name for the post of CM, he said, "This is incorrect. People of Maharashtra want Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister."

Raut made it clear that Shiv Sena won't side with BJP. He said, "Won't side with BJP, even if offered Lord Indra's throne.' Congress party on Thursday for the first time acknowledged that it was in talks with the Sena, and declared that the two would meet in Mumbai on Friday. Uddhav Thackeray, along with his son Aaditya Thackeray reached the residence of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar at Thursday midnight. Sanjay Raut and Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar were also present. Details of the meeting were not revealed.
