Mumbai, December 30: With over a month-long wait, Maharashtra Cabinet for the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is ready under the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. On Monday, NCP leader Ajit Pawar took an oath at Vidhan Bhavan premises as deputy CM of the state, while Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray took ministerial oath. Along with him, 24 ministers and 10 ministers of state took the oath of various departments. As per the official data, 13 leaders -- each from NCP and Shiv Sena, and the rest from Congress party took ministerial oath. With this, the total strength ministers of Thackeray government stands at 43.

The key leaders who took oath include -- Ashok Chavan, Dilip Walse Patil, Dhananjay Munde, Vijay Wadettiwar, Hasan Mushriff, Anil Deshmukh, Varsha Gaikwad, Nawab Malik, Gulabrao Patik, Amit Deshmukh, Dada Bhuse, Jitendra Awhad, Sandeep Bhumare, Balasaheb Patil, Yashomati Thakur, Anil Parab, Uday Samant, KC Padvi, Shankarrao Gadhak, Aslam Sheikh, Aditya Thackeray, Abdul Sattar, Satej Patil, Shambhuraje Desai, Bachhu Kadu, Vishwajit Kadam, Duttatray Bharne, Aditi Tatkare, Sanjay Bansod, P Tanpure and Rajendra Patil. Ajit Pawar, NCP Leader, Sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

As per the details, in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Shiv Sena has 56 MLAs, and holds the CM’s post, besides 14 other ministerial berths. On the other side, Sharad Pawar's NCP has 54 MLAs and bagged the Deputy CM’s position, with 16 ministerial berths. Congress in the meanwhile, has 44 MLAs and now holds the Assembly Speaker’s post, with 12 ministerial positions.

Earlier on November 28, 2019, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took the oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Along with him Eknath Shinde and Subhash Desai -- both from Shiv Sena, Jayant Patil and Chhagan Chandrakant Bhujbal -- both from NCP, and Balasaheb Thorat and Nitin Raut -- both from Congress took oath as Maharashtra state ministers.

In the Assembly Elections -- held in October 2019 -- BJP emerged as largest party with 105 seats, Shive Sena stood second with 56 seats, NCP gained 54 seats and Congress managed 44 seats in the 288-member Assembly. The remaining went to other leaders. With a lot of drama unfolding in November, Maha Vikas Aghadi was formed between Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress which is forming the government in the state.
