Maharashtra Government: Ajit Pawar Gets Finance and Aaditya Thackeray Bags Tourism, List of Ministers With Portfolio in Uddhav Thackeray's Cabinet
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray will hold the charge of Ministry of General Administration, Information and Technology, Information and Public Relations, Law and Judiciary and other departments which have not been allocated to any other Minister.
Mumbai, January 5: After Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Sunday approved the allocation of portfolios as proposed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the Ministers in the state Cabinet have been allocated the ministries. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has got the Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Planning while Aaditya Thackeray has been allocated the portfolio of Environment, Tourism and Protocol. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray will hold the charge of Ministry of General Administration, Information and Technology, Information and Public Relations, Law and Judiciary and other departments which have not been allocated to any other Minister.
Shiv Sena's Abdul Sattar has been appointed as Minister of State (MoS) of Revenue, Rural Development, Port Land Development and Special Assistance. Balasaheb Thorat has been allocated Revenue Ministry while Ministry of Industry & Mining and Ministry of Marathi language has been allocated to Subhash Desai.
Jayant Patil will hold the charge of Water Resources and Command Area Development. Ashok Chavan has been allocated the Ministry of Public Works (excluding Public Undertakings). Nawab Malik has been allocated portfolios of Minority Development and Aukaf, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Chhagan Bhujbal has been given ministries of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection.

In Maharahstra, Shiv Sena has 56 MLAs, the NCP has 54 MLA, while the Congress has 44 lawmakers. Uddhav Thackeray was chosen as the leader of the Maha Vikas Agadi’ and was sworn in as the CM of the state on November 26, 2019, after a month-long political drama.

In Maharashtra, portfolios were allocated almost a week after the Maharashtra Cabinet expansion and induction of 36 ministers in Udhhav Thackeray government. According to reports, Thackeray will look after only the general administration department. Deputy chief minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has been reportedly allocated Finance Ministry. Home Ministry also went to the NCP.
