Raut recalled how he was ridiculed by a section of media and political analysts after he had reiterated that the next Maharashtra Chief Minister would from Shiv Sena. "Some were laughing when I was saying this, but today, the sixth floor of Mantralaya is now lit by the sun of Sena," he said.
"In the future, if this sun of Shiv Sena lands in Delhi, then you must not be surprised," Raut claimed. His remarks came two days after Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray told the gathering of Congress, NCP and Sena legislators that their alliance will last for a long-term. "We will remain together for five years, 25 years or even 50 years," he said.

Raut has been at the forefront of the tussle with BJP following the hung verdict thrown in Maharashtra assembly elections 2019. After the BJP categorically refused to share the chief ministerial post with the Sena, Raut had announced that his party would explore all options to form a government with its own chief minister.
The impasse in Maharashtra almost ended on Tuesday, when the Supreme Court ordered a floor test to be conducted within the next 24 hours. Shortly thereafter, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar submitted their resignations, citing the lack of numbers.
Their resignations paved the way for Uddhav Thackeray, the elected leader of Maha Vikas Aghadi, to stake claim for government formation in Maharashtra. The Sena chief would be taking oath tomorrow at Mumbai's Shivaji Park, in presence of top leaders from his party, the Congress and the NCP.
