Maharashtra Cabinet Portfolio Allocation: Ajit Pawar Likely to Get Finance, Shiv Sena Keen to Keep Home; Check Full List of Possible Allocations
With two days after the Cabinet expansion and induction of 36 ministers in government, speculations over allocation of the ministries are becoming the discussion point in Mantralaya. Here's a possible list of Cabinet portfolio that can be allocated to ministers.
Mumbai, January 2: Two days after the Maharashtra Cabinet expansion and induction of 36 ministers in Udhhav Thackeray government, speculations over allocation of the ministries are becoming the discussion point in Mantralaya. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday said that the allocation of portfolios will be done by the end of the day and reports state that Pawar might not get the Home Department, but will clinch the Finance Ministry in the Shiv Sena-led alliance government in state.
On the second last day, along with Pawar and Aaditya Thackeray, 24 legislators took the oath of ministers at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. As per the official data, 13 leaders -- each from NCP and Shiv Sena, and the rest from Congress party took ministerial oath. In the alliance, Shiv Sena has 56 seats, NCP has 54 seats and Congress has 44 seats. Considering the importance of the alliance, Shiv Sena has agreed with Chief Minister's post and 14 other ministerial berths. On the other side, Sharad Pawar's NCP has agreed for Deputy CM and 16 ministerial berths. While Congress now holds the Assembly Speaker’s post, with 12 ministerial positions.
Looking at the speculations doing rounds in the corridors of Mantralaya, here's a list of probable portfolio's that could be allotted to the several lawmakers in the Maha Vikas Aghadi-led government in Maharashtra:

Anil Parab -- Chief Minister's Office

Earlier, reports arrived that unhappy with the cabinet expansion, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Prakash Solanke announced his resignation. Following this, Shiv Sena admitted that there was a tussle among senior leaders of the three ruling alliance parties in Maharashtra for key Cabinet berths. However, CM Thackeray said that issues will be taken care.
