Mumbai, January 3: The allotment of bungalows and office space was done on Thursday and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has been allotted the Devgiri bungalow in Malabar Hill. The development comes at a time when there is still uncertainty on portfolio allocation. According to the Times of India report, Pawar had occupied this place during the Congress-NCP regime from 1999-2014. Reportedly, two other ministers had asked for Devgiri bungalow, but their requests were turned down.

Ashok Chavan was allotted the Meghdoot bungalow and Shivgiri bungalow was allotted to Dilip Walse Patil. Aaditya Thackeray has been allotted a 'less imposing bungalow' opposite Mantralaya at Nariman Point. The report further mentions that most of the bungalows that have been allotted to the ministers need renovation. The ones that are sea-facing are mostly old and have leakage problems. All the 30 cabinet ministers have been allocated offices in Mantralaya. Ajit Pawar's office is on the sixth floor of the Mantralaya. However, in the absence of portfolios, the work in Mantralaya remains standstill. The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi was not able to reach a consensus on the portfolio allocation even after a marathon meeting of over five hours on Thursday.
