Mumbai, September 29: Amid seat-sharing talks for with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019, the Shiv Sena on Sunday distributed AB forms to its incumbent MLAs. The forms authorise them to file their nominations as Shiv Sena candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. Reports also surfaced that Aditya Thackeray will be contesting from Worli constituency. Aaditya is the first member of the Thackeray family to contest any election. According to reports, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, distributed AB forms to Sanjay Shirsat (Aurangabad West), Rajesh Kshirsagar (Kolhapur North) and Deepak Kesarkar (Sawantwadi). MoS Home Deepak Kesarkar from Sawantwadi, Sanjay Ghadge from Kagal, Sangram Kupekar from Chandgad, Chandraradeep Narke from Karveerm also received the AB forms, reported India Today.

Shiv Sena is adamant on 50-50 formula under which both allies will contest 135 seats each, leaving the remaining 18 seats to the smaller allies. Meanwhile, the alliance between the BJP and the Shiv is expected to be announced in the coming days. The elections for 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will take place on October 21 along with Haryana. The votes will be counted on October 24, and the results will be declared on the same day. Meanwhile, the Congress is contesting the Maharashtra Assembly election in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party. Both the opposition parties will contest on 125-seats each.
