Mumbai, September 29: Congress party on Sunday released a list of 51 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. The important names in the list are Ashok Chavan, Nitin Raut and Pariniti Shinde, among others. The Congress is looking for a change of fortunes in Maharashtra, a state it was in power with the NCP for ten consecutive years before losing to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Among the other prominent faces, Varsha Gaikwad has been given a ticket from Dharavi seat. The seat has been earlier represented by Varsha's father and Congress leader Eknath Gaikwad. Former MLA Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan Siddique has also been given a ticket from Bandra East. The Congress and NCP alliance will fight on 125 seats each in the 288 members assembly.
