Mahagama Vidhan Sabha Constituency Result in Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019: Deepika Pandey Singh of Congress Wins MLA Seat

Deepika Pandey Singh of the Indian National Congress has won the Mahagama Vidhan Sabha seat. The polling in Mahagama assembly constituency in Jharkhand was held in the fifth phase on December 20, 2019.

Mahagama, December 17: Deepika Pandey Singh of the Indian National Congress has won the Mahagama Vidhan Sabha seat. The polling in Mahagama assembly constituency in Jharkhand was held in the fifth phase on December 20, 2019. The Mahagama seat comes under the Godda Lok Sabha constituency. The sitting MLA of the Mahagama constituency is Ashok Kumar. The Bharatiya Janata Party had given its ticket to Ashok Kumar. Jharkhand Assembly Elections Results 2019: JMM-Congress-RJD Alliance Set to Form Government, BJP Trounced.

The major battle was between BJP, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha and the alliance between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). These three parties came together to take on the BJP in the ensuing elections. While BJP planned to go solo this time, the JMM fought on 43 seats, Congress contested on 31 seats and RJD on 7.

In phase five, a total of 16 constituencies went into polls. The notification was issued on November 26. The last date of filing the nomination papers was December 3. The result will be declared on December 23. In the 2014  assembly elections in Jharkhand, the BJP had won by beating the Congress and its allies. The saffron party had won 43 seats out of total 81 seats.
