Bhopal, April 2: The Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath, on Tuesday reinstated security outside the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Bhopal. The development came after senior Congress leader from the state, Digvijaya Singh, objected to the government's decision to withdraw security at the RSS headquarters.

"We can have ideological differences with RSS but I don't support the decision to remove security from outside their office in Bhopal, hence have directed officials to continue to deploy security at RSS office," Kamal Nath said. Earlier today, Digvijaya Singh urged the chief minister to immediately reinstate the security arrangements, calling the withdrawal 'unfair'. He is contesting Lok Sabha election from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.

"The decision to revoke security at RSS office in Bhopal is inappropriate. I urge Chief Minister Kamal Nath to reinstate security immediately," Singh tweeted in Hindi. Singh's tweet came after reports emerged that the Congress government in the state has ordered to remove security from the RSS office in Bhopal. Security personnel and their tents were completely removed by late Monday night.

Digvijaya Singh's tweet on security withdrawal from RSS office in Bhopal:

Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party leader Gopal Bhargava slammed the Congress government for its decision to withdraw security from the RSS headquarters. "It seems Congress is hatching a conspiracy. If an RSS worker suffers a scratch, Congress will see a befitting reply," Bhargava tweeted.

Reacting to the report, Bhopal ASP said it was a routine exercise and no order to withdraw security was issued to them. "Personnel of Special Armed Forces (SAF) were removed, but security wasn't revoked. The SAF is needed for elections. We removed the SAF personnel from six places, including, the RSS office. There wasn’t any order, was a routine thing," the senior cop said.
