Earlier on Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party approached to the Election Commission in the national capital seeking legal action against Nath for violating model code of conduct. The BJP delegation complained to the EC that nine-time Lok Sabha MP of the Congress from Chhindwara indulged in inciting religious sentiments by appealing to a particular community.
In the video, Tweeted by the BJP media handle shows that the senior Congress leader allegedly telling his supporters that they need to get at least 90 percent of Muslim votes and if it doesn’t happen then it would be a great loss to the party. The authenticity of the viral video is yet to checked.
In the video, Nath is allegedly seen saying, “They have said a really good thing about voting. How much is the percentage of voting? I request you. You should see the old records. It is on the Internet even today. If you want you can take it out. In the Muslim booths, what is the percentage of voting that has taken place? If 50-60 percentage of voting has taken place, why was it just 60 per cent? Why wasn't it 90 per cent?"
