Bhopal, November 10: The Congress released its manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2018 on Saturday. Senior party leader Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia were present at the launch of the manifesto and spoke at length about Congress party's plans for the state of Madhya Pradesh. Scindia said that the Congress party is optimistic about the assembly elections. Kamal Nath attacked the incumbent BJP government and said that BJP has been only "doing jumlas for the past 15 years." On Friday, November 9, Congress President Rahul Gandhi released the party's manifesto in chief minister Raman Singh's home turf Rajnandgaon. Gandhi arrived in the state early on Friday and attended multiple events. The polling in the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly will be held in two phases - on November 12 and November 20 - and counting of votes will take place on December 11. Gandhi said if the Congress was voted to power in Chhattisgarh, it will waive off farmers' debts within 10 days. While addressing a poll rally in Rajnandgaon, Gandhi launched a scathing attack at the BJP-led government at the Centre over the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which he alleged, was rather a 'Gabbar Singh Tax'.
