Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018: Congress Leader Premchand Guddu Quits Party, Joins BJP
Premchand Guddu's son Ajit Guddu also joined the BJP. Ajit Guddu was recently made the State Executive of Youth Congress in the state.
Bhopal, November 2: Premchand Guddu, former Congress Member of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on November 2, in the presence of BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and Union Minister Tomar Singh. This is another blow to the Congress party in poll bound Madhya Pradesh. The state will vote for a new legislative assembly on November 28. Recently, reports of a verbal spat between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijaya Singh at a party meeting surfaced in media, adding to Congress's woes. Both the leaders were engaged in a heated argument over giving tickets to their loyalists during the party meeting to discuss poll strategy. Congress president Rahul Gandhi was also present at the meeting when the incident took place. Gandhi formed a three-member committee comprising Ashok Gehlot, Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel to resolve the matter.
