Bhopal, November 5: With less than a month left for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has to quell rebellions within the party, apart from tackling the Opposition. Former chief minister of the state Babulal Gaur has asked the party leadership to give him the ticket from Govindpura constituency of Bhopal. Gaur has also pitched for his daughter-in-law Krishna Gaur for the same seat.
The former chief minister told The Indian Express, “Both I and Krishnaji will contest as Independents from different seats if neither of us is fielded from Govindpura.” Gaur is a 10-time MLA from Govindpura. He had contested his first election as an independent candidate. As per reports, Mayor Alok Sharma and party general secretary V D Sharma are among the leading contenders who can get a ticket of Govindpura, if the party decided to sideline the 88-year-old senior party leader.
