Mumbai, May 23: BJP's Ranjeetsinha Hindurao Naik-Nimbalkar was elected as Member of Parliament from Madha Lok Sabha seat. Madha Lok Sabha constituency which went to polls on April 24 in the third phase of general elections. Mohite Patil Vijaysinh Shankarrao of the NCP is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Madha. However, he has been denied ticket this time.
The NCP has announced the nomination of Solapur Zilla Parishad president Sanjay Shinde for Madha parliamentary constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded Ranjeetsinha Hindurao Naik-Nimbalkar to take on Shinde in the coming election. The process of filing nomination began from March 28. The last date for the withdrawal of the nominations was April 8. The NCP is contesting 20 seats, while its alliance partner the Congress is fighting on 24.
