Uttar Pradesh, September 18: Senior Congress leader Madan Mohan Jha has been appointed as the new president of Bihar Congress Committee. He is currently the member of Bihar Legislative Council. Kaukab Quadri, the working state Congress president, would continue to be on his post. The Congress high command has appointed Ashok Kumar, Kaukab Kadri, Sameer Kumar Singh and Shyam Sunder Singh Dheeraj as the acting state president.

Who is Madan Mohan Jha?

Madan Mohan Jha is a son of former Education Minister and Congress leader Nagendra Jha. Madan Mohan Jha of Manigachhi of Darbhanga district is currently the member of Bihar Legislative Council. Before this, he has been the member of the Bihar Assembly from 1985 to 1995.

This move of Congress came months before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress is trying to build a new team as well as retain its old member in their following positions.
