New Delhi, May 22: The Election Commission will declare results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and state Assembly polls tomorrow, May 23. Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections results will begin at 8 am. In order to live stream the Lok Sabha elections results on YouTube, Prasar Bharti has partnered with search engine giant Google. An official at Prasar Bharti said the move will help people watch live streaming of DD News' coverage of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections results with credible numbers.
"What is going to happen is whenever anybody accesses YouTube from anywhere in India either through the website of Youtube or through the YouTube App, the first thing that they will see on top will be a news stream from DD News updating the results," Prasar Bharati's Shashi Shekhar Vempati told news agency PTI. "It will be a sort of a landing screen. Once you click on that it will be a live YouTube channel of DD news. Apart from that, the window will also have the option of live stream of 14 other DD regional stations of different languages," Vempati was quoted as saying. On the day of counting, initial hours see a lot of chaos and misreporting of facts. The numbers which will appear of DD News will be credible and authentic.

The live streaming link will increase the public broadcaster's visibility and help people get correct figures, Vempati said. "So, what this will ensure is that the public broadcaster's tally is visible to anybody accessing YouTube. It is a significant measure in terms of bringing election results digitally, in different languages and ensuring that the source is the most authentic in India," he added.
It is the first of a kind tie-up between Google and Prasar Bharati. This feature will be active on YouTube all throughout May 23, 2019.
