New Delhi, May 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is closing in for a landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. As per the latest trends, the NDA is leading on 344 seats, while the Congress is limping at around 55 seats. The Others, however, managed to bag 107 seats. The Trinamool Congress chief also congratulated all the winners of the Lok Sabha elections. She tweeted, “Congratulations to the winners. But all losers are not losers. We have to do a complete review and then we will share our views with you all. Let the counting process be completed fully and the VVPATs matched.”
BJP chief Amit Shah said that opposition’s lies, baseless politics and malicious campaign led to saffron party’s historic victory.
Incumbent Congress MP Shashi Tharoor thanked the Congress for reposing faith in him. He said, “My thanks to the @INCIndia workers, dedicated volunteers & above all the people of Thiruvananthapuram for having reposed faith in me & in the values of #InclusiveIndia, democratic diversity, secularism, economic growth & social justice. I look forward to serving them as before.”
National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appreciated PM Modi and Shah for making this victory possible. He tweeted, "So the exit polls were correct. All that’s left is to congratulate the BJP & NDA for a stellar performance. Credit where credit is due PM Modi Sahib & Mr Amit Shah put together a winning alliance & a very professional campaign. Bring on the next five years.."
The voting for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections took place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. Immediately after announcing dates for the parliamentary polls, the Election Commission the Model Code of conduct came into force from March 10.
