Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Rahul Gandhi Doesn't Have Guts to Contest From Hindu Majority Seat, Says PM Narendra Modi
PM Narendra Modi also accused the Congress of smearing Hindu community by coining term 'Hindu terror'.
Wardha, April 1: A day after Congress announced that its president Rahul Gandhi will contest from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, apart from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a scathing attack on the Congress leader, saying he doesn't have guts to fight from a Hindu-majority constituency. PM Narendra Modi also accused the Congress of smearing Hindu community by coining term 'Hindu terror'.
"They gave birth to the Hindu Terror phrase. They have insulted a 5,000-year-old culture. They have sinned by adding the terror tag to Hindu and now they are afraid of contesting on Hindu majority seats, that is why they are contesting from those seats where the majority is in minority," PM Modi said while addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra's Wardha on Monday. "Do you want someone who is the hero of India or those who are being the heroes in Pakistan? Do you want evidence or do you want to be proud of the evidence? This is the same Congress-NCP's alliance that trampled the Shaheed Smarak at Azad Maidan," PM Modi said. Taking a dig at NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, PM Modi said he refused to contest the Lok Sabha polls because he had understood which way the wind was blowing. "Sharad Pawar is one of the most experienced politicians of the country. They say he doesn’t do anything without thinking it through. There was a time when he believed he could also become the PM. He had also announced that he would contest elections. But then one day he suddenly said he’s happy in Rajya Sabha. He said he didn’t want to contest elections. He also knows which way the wind is blowing," he said.
