Bhopal, May 5: Malegaon blast accused and BJP's Lok Sabha candidate Pragya Singh Thakur on Sunday got a notice by Bhopal District Election Officer for violating the order by the Election Commission. According to a tweet by ANI, the notice has been issued to Malegaon blast accused over complaint of her campaigning during the 3-day period when she was barred by Election Commission. The Election Commission on Wednesday had barred the BJP candidate from Bhopal from campaigning for 72 hours for her remarks on former ATS chief Hemant Karkare and the Babri masjid demolition. In her provocative and communal remarks in April, she had said Karkare was killed in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack because of her “curse” as he “tortured” her when he probed the Malegaon blast case as chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Sadhvi Pragya has been no stranger to controversies. The poll panel “strongly condemned” her remarks” and “warned her “not to repeat the misconduct in future”. Sadhvi Pragya has been fielded against Congress veteran Digvijay Singh in the Bhopal parliamentary constituency. Thakur, who is out on bail, had joined the BJP only hours before her name was announced as a candidate.
