Round 1 of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 has concluded amid reports of EVM glitches, violence, ink row and missing names. Read full report.
Voting has all ended in all 91 constituencies, confirmed the Election Commission. The polls were extended in some of the seats where voting time was extended due to technical glitches. The maximum turnout has been recorded in Tripura, where 81.8 per cent polling was registered.

Voting has completely concluded in 10 states, confirmed the Election Commission. "There were 6.87 crore women voters and over 14 lakh differently abled voters. 1.7 lakh polling stations were present across 20 states and UTs," he said.
Two security personnel have been injured in an IED blast and firing by naxals in Etapalli of Gadchiroli district when they were returning to the base camp along with the polling party today. The injured jawans are being brought to Nagpur, news agency ANI reported.

The phase-I voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is taking place on April 11, 2019. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 10, announced the schedule of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Voting for the General Elections will take place in seven phases across the country to decide the names of 543 Members of Parliament (MPs). The polling will take place from April 11 to May 19. The Model Code of Conduct immediately has come into the force after the announcement of election dates.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. A total of 900 million voters are expected to cast their vote this General Election across 10 lakh polling stations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Congress have sounded the poll bugle as soon as the election dates were announced.
