New Delhi, March 10: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday, March 10, announced the schedule of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Voting for the General Elections will take place in seven phases across the country to decide the names of 543 Members of Parliament (MPs). Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections will take place from April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes for all phases will take place together on May 23. In Phase I, voting will take place for 91 Lok Sabha constituencies in 20 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 11. Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. A total of 900 million voters are expected to cast their vote this General Election across 10 lakh polling stations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Congress have sounded the poll bugle as soon as the election dates were announced. It remains to be seen whether the Narendra Modi government will return once again or will the country see a new Prime Minister.
