Thiruvananthapuram: Abin Babu, a voter at booth no. 151 in Vattiyoorkavu, was arrested for allegedly making a false complaint about malfunctioning of polling machine. He had alleged that VVPAT displayed his vote had gone to another candidate, not to the one he voted for.

Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha: VVPAT of Polling Station No. 196 of 87-Baramba Assembly Constituency was changed after commencement of actual poll, due to some error. 134 votes had been polled in the machine by then. Concerned Sector Officer reached booth with replacement VVPAT.

Estimated voter turnout till 3.30 PM for the 3rd phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is 51.15%. West Bengal registered the highest voting percentage so far, 67.52 percent.
New Delhi, April 22: Polling for the third phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 began at 7 am on Tuesday amid high security. The third phase will see the maximum number of seats going to the polls in a single phase- 117 across 15 states and Union Territories. Voting will conclude at 5 PM on Tuesday while the counting of votes will be held on May 23. The campaigning for the third phase polls ended on April 21. In March, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 during a press conference. Voting will be conducted in seven phases in April-May, beginning from April 11. The elections will be held for 543 seats on nearly 10 lakh polling booths across the country, while the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
According to EC, all seats in Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Puducherry would go to polls in the third phase while the other states where voting will take place in this phase include Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Karnataka (14), Maharashtra (14), Odisha (6), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (5) and Jammu and Kashmir (1).
In the Lok Sabha Polls held in 2014, the BJP won all the 26 seats in Gujarat, 11 of 14 in Karnataka, 8 of 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 of 7 in Chhattisgarh, 6 of 14 in Maharashtra, both the seats in Goa and one seat each in Assam, Bihar, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
