The Election Commission has recorded a total voter turnout of 61.12 per cent in the phase 2 of Lok Sabha elections 2019. The maximum polling was recorded in West Bengal, and lowest in Jammu & Kashmir.

As per the data released by the Election Commission till 5pm, 60.69 per cent voting has been recorded in Chhattisgarh, 51.91 per cent in Uttar Pradesh, 47.49 per cent in Bihar, 46.74 per cent in Maharashtra and 38.92 per cent in Jammu & Kashmir.

Mumbai, April 18: Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is taking place on Thursday, April 18. In the second phase, voting is being held for 95 seats across 12 states/union territories. The states that have gone to polls today are - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and Puducherry. The first phase of Lok Sabha Elections took place on April 11 and a total voter turnout of 69 per cent was recorded. Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Campaigning for Phase 2 Ends, Polling on 95 Seats to Be Held on April 18.

Polling is being held for 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, 14 seats in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra, eight in Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam, Bihar and Odisha, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one seat each in Manipur and Puducherry.

Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is scheduled to take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. The counting of votes for all places will take place on May 23. Voting is also taking place for Assembly Elections 2019 in four states - Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha. While Andhra, Arunachal and Sikkim voted in the first phase, Odisha is seeing a four-phase election along with Parliamentary polls.
