Mumbai, January 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to suffer loses in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, says the Mood of the Nation poll by India Today and Kravy Insights. Meanwhile, the survey predicts that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is likely to increase its seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The survey also suggests that others will also increase their vote tally in the elections.
The NDA could get 35 percent vote share, while the UPA is likely to get 33 percent votes and the others will get 32 percent seats, says the survey. In terms of seats, the NDA will bag 237 seats, while the Congress-led UPA could win 166 seats. According to the survey, others are expected to remain victorious on 140 seats. As compared to previous elections, the NDA is expected to suffer a loss of 99 seats, while the Congress will gain 107 seats. According to the survey, the BJP alone ould win 202 seats, while the Congress is exptected to bag 97 seats.
In North India, the survey says that the NDA is likely to get 40 percent vote share, while the UPA is expected to receive 23 percent votes and the others will get 37 percent vote share. In terms of seat share, the NDA is expected to get 66 seats, and the Congress is likely to bag 20 seats, while others will win the remaining 65 seats. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the Mood of the Nation poll by India Today predicts that the BJP could be reduced down to just five seats from 73 in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
In Western India, the survey projects a 54-seat loss for the NDA. The NDA is likely to get 46 percent seats, while the UPA is expected to receive 42 percent vote share. However, others will get only 12 percent vote share. In terms of seats, the UPA is expected to get 76 seats, the UPA is likely to get 40 seats, and others will fail to open an account in western India, says the survey. In South India also, the BJP-led NDA is likely to suffer loses, predicts the survey. According to the survey, the NDA will get only 18 percent vote share, while the UPA is likely to have massive gains in the region. The UPA is expected to get 43 percent vote share, while other will have 39 percent votes. In terms of seats, the NDA is expected to bag 26 seats which are 12 seats less than 2014 elections, while the UPA will get 76 seats which are 57 seats more than in 2014. The survey also suggests that in South India, the others will bag 30 seats.
If we talk about eastern India, The BJP-led NDA is likely to have a marginal gain. According to the survey, the NDA is expected to bag 69 seats which are 16 more as compared to previous parliamentary elections with 37 percent vote share. The Congress-led UPA is also likely to increase its vote share to 25 percent. The opposition alliance will get 28 seats, while others are likely to have 38 percent vote share with 45 seats. The survey is conducted from December 28- January 8 with over 12,000 sample size. Face to face interviews are conducted for the survey. Currently, the BJP has 270 Members Parliament in the Lok Sabha, while the Congress has only 44 MPs.
