Serampore, April 29: As the 2019 Lok Sabha are going on in full swing there is a direct contest between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Opposition parties, during an election campaigning in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday warned Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee that her 40 lawmakers are in contact with the BJP and will desert her as soon as the general elections are over. Narendra Modi Slams Mamata Banerjee for ‘Not Doing Enough to Uplift Poor’.

Addressing a rally in West Bengal's Serampore, the Prime Minister said, "Didi, on 23 May, the day of results, the lotus will bloom everywhere and your MLAs will leave you and run. Even today, Didi, 40 of your MLAs are in contact with me". Both Narendra Modi, Mamata Banerjee Doing Communal Politics, Says Kanhaiya Kumar.

He also added that it would be difficult for the CM to survive, "since you have betrayed the people". Meanwhile, the elections in West Bengal are taking place in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes will be held on May 23. In 2014 general elections, the TMC had won 34 out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
