In the first list of candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019, CPM has given preference to senior leaders Mohammed Salim and Badaruddoza Khan in West Bengal
Kolkata, March 8: With the dates for the Lok Sabha elections to be announced in days by the Election Commission, the Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) had announced the first list, stating that Mohammed Salim would contest from Raiganj constituency and Badaruddoza Khan would fight from Murshidabad constituency in West Bengal.
Along with the top two names, the National Executive of Communist Party of India (CPI) has released the list of 15 candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2019. The National Executive of CPI has also set up 11-member Election Manifesto Committee with party national council secretary D Raja as Convener. Though the Left Front’s prime party had announced the names of two of its strongest leaders for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, there is been no confirmation with whom the front will make an alliance. Also, even if the party makes an alliance with the Congress, which is most expected, the seat-sharing formula for the West Bengal is still being discussed. It is to be known that Trinamool Congress is mulling alliance with Congress in the grand alliance, provided a better seat-sharing deal.
