New Delhi, April 22: The Congress on Monday named three candidates from the parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh. The party, in its fresh list of candidates, has named Yogesh Shukla from Allahabad (Prayagraj), Chandresh Upadhyay from Domariyaganj and Bhal Chand Yadav from Sant Kabir Nagar. The three constituencies will go to polls on May 12, when the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be contested.
From Sant Kabir Nagar, the party had earlier fielded Parvez Khan. However, after reviewing the electoral math and taking feedback from cadres, it was decided to nominate Bhal Chand Yadav from the seat. Promise Division of Uttar Pradesh in Manifesto, Congress State Unit Tells High Command.

From Sant Kabir Nagar, the BJP has fielded Praveen Nishad, whereas, the BSP candidate is Bhishma Shankar. In Domariyaganj, the BSP has fielded Aftab Alam, while the BJP has reposed faith in incumbent MP Jagdambika Pal. Prayagraj has witnessed the nomination of BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party's Shiv Kumar Prajapati and the Samajwadi Party's Rajendra Pratap Singh.
In Uttar Pradesh, a total of 80 parliamentary seats are being contested in the ongoing polls. 16 of the state's Lok Sabha constituencies have went to vote in the first two phases of the elections.
