Polls held on 6th May at polling station-116 in Barrackpur parliamentary constituency and polling station-110 in Arambag parliamentary constituency of West Bengal have been declared void, said the Election Commission. Re-poll will be held on May 12.

The candidature of actor-turned-politician Kirron Kher from Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency has caused a rift within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Punjab, said sources quoted by NDTV. Kirron Kher was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Chandigarh seat in 2014, after defeating Indian National Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal, who won it three times in a row.

A woman threw chappal at Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu at a public meeting. The incident took place on Wednesday in Haryana's Rohtak where Navjot Singh Sidhu was addressing a public meeting for Congress candidate Deepender Singh Hooda. As seen in the video, chappal missed Sidhu. He was addressing a gathering in Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency when suddenly a woman stood up and hurled chappal at him. Following the incident, the police detained the woman.
