Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, is likely to contest the Lok Sabha polls against the father of his estranged wife and RJD candidate Chandrika Rai from the Saran seat. According to IANS, the development comes a day after Tej Pratap Yadav announced that he had resigned as the patron of the Rashtriya Janata Dal's student wing after being sidelined by his family and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

New Delhi, March 29: With the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 just around the corner, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday appointed Vivek Dube, a retired IPS officer of 1981 batch, as the Central Police Observer for West Bengal and Jharkhand during the polls. Reports inform that Dube

would replace K.K. Sharma, a retired IPS officer of 1982 batch. Sharma has now been assigned the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Gujarat, the Congress is determined to contest on all of 26 Lok Sabha seats and any understanding with the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) of Chottu Vasava seems unlikely. In Arunachal, three BJP candidates contesting the forthcoming polls to the  Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly were on Thursday declared winner uncontested by the Chief Election Officer of the state.  Additional CEO Kanki Darang confirmed the decision and said Phurpa Tsering (BJP) won uncontested from Dirang assembly constituency, Taba Tedir (BJP) from Yachuli constituency and Kento Jini from the Along East Assembly constituency were also declared winner uncontested.
